Last Ride

Hearse humming white smoke rings in October air

The purple hue of a solitary seeking night trimmed with deadened promise

Carnage calling the mortuary makeshift moons deciding gloom

No surviving the keeper of souls scheduling grim appointments

Runners try escape and smoothed over lullabies

But the driver is a silent creature set on killing

There will be no double dealing just a one way ticket out

When hell has no doubts about patients ready for a roadtrip through the foggy forsaking of neverending

Screaming victims stare out through flattened eyes until the flames rise

And destiny’s destination has arrived
