Boarded Up Souls

They boarded our souls with scrutinizing stares cloaked as a fakery of falsified concern

Spoon fed us hatred and indifference until our fogging irises begged to bleed out the disgust

Salvaging our breath for a sacrificial harvest of mayhem and murderous gauging

Until we were cratered crows devoid of sight or structure

Just emptied vessels clawing at what little sanity still stirs within our abhorred minds

The wind screams for our rebellious return but the hounding demons demand their fill
They often wander what created the secreting creatures rearing within our burning flesh

Or why we weep to the starry sky above for a life crushed by lies
They care only for the taste of our creativity and vibrant personality

They dulled us with their cage of confusion
